Historic wine
The oldest vine in the world can still be found in the old town on the Lent, in front of the House of the Old Vine. With a confirmed age of over 400 years, the Black Velvet Vine or Blauer Kölner is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest fruit-bearing vine in the world. The Museum of the Oldest Vine in the World places it in the context of the urban development of Lent and Maribor as the wine-growing center of Slovenian Styria. It is based on the preserved movable heritage, which is reinforced by the fact of its extraordinary age. In addition to the selected material and texts, the exhibition is also enriched by computer animations and videos.
